Now the other guy says he will include Russell Martin to help out my Catcher situation if I give up Britton, Matusz, or Drabek in return. What do you guys think?

For me, I would ask if he would replace Baker with Ogando. AO is a little less expensive, and younger. I like this deal though even if you have to take it on it's face though due to you ridding yourself of Ichiro, who I think we all see is in serious decline.

As for his follow-up, of the three names, I would be more inclined to give Drabek, as I think he has had a bit more of a chance in the big leagues. I could see BAL turning one or both of those SPs around.

You would be taking on some $ here but for the short-term it would be money well-spent.

So, what do you guys think of Ichiro, Viciedo, and Drabek for Reynolds, Baker, and Martin?

I'm not sure. I haven't done an AL only auction in awhile, but Reynolds seems pretty expensive at $32. You do need power as most of your guys are speed guys though. Would be taking a huge hit to BA though with other guys on your roster that certainly won't help that out (Upton/Dunn). I think if you could get an Ogando instead of Baker and Montero instead of Martin I'd like this more. The way the offer is now, your getting older, more expensive and I think riskier.

I like the trade, but think you could do a tad better.

I think unloading Ichiro is crucial as he is clearly declining (as was posted earlier). The Reynolds contract may be a bit steep, but in comparison to Ichiro, I think it more than evens out. I do like Baker skill wise. If healthy (and this is a big if) he can post very good numbers as his underlying stats show he hasn't lost much. Decent K/9, good control, just needs to stay healthy. But I don't think I would spend $14 on a gamble, even though a healthy Baker would outproduce that salary. Martin doesn't impress me much.

I would like the deal a lot more for you if you got Montero and didn't have to lose Vicideo. Viciedo mainly for the reason of his salary. I would try to sub in someone else (who is overpaid). Salary wise you are getting hurt, especially if Baker doesn't stay healthy.

There doesn't seem to be any real salary discrepancies involved, so although you're taking on some extra dollars, I like the trade for you.

I don't hate the deal. It seems good enough to pull the trigger on. I'm just not thrilled about Reynolds at $32.

In an AL only, and 3rd base being a black hole, I'd think that Reynolds, who should approach 225 in the counting stats, will be worth right around $30.
