In recent months, both football and basketball have been held hostage by labor negotiations that delayed the preparation of their respective fantasy sports. Luckily, baseball has no such problem. So as the new year dawns, I’m here to provide my 2012 fantasy baseball rankings. STOP! I know you’re anxious to skip the rest of this introduction and [...]

I like Hosmer, but it remains to be seen if he can translate that hot second half to a full season. He had 19 HRs in over 500 ABs -- that's not great for the 1B position. Everyone I ranked ahead of him had at least 27 bombs, and the only guys that may slide under that level this year were all .300 hitters. Love the 11 SBs from Hosmer though. He should be good, but I have a feeling he'll be slightly overvalued in drafts with people drafting him expecting him to do too much (he's only 22, so it would shock no one to see a sophomore slump).
Cuddyer is the one that I don't like. Injury prone and slow despite stealing 11 bases last year.
I'm drafting Uggla and Kipnis every time according to this list.
Alexi Casilla is also way too high. Aybar is my early mid round pick at SS and I like Asdrubal a little more than this list. He'll regress but he's still better than several of the guys in front of him. And Yunel is my fall back. Unfortunately he's better in real life than in fantasy.
I would move up Ubaldo at #41, Romero at #47 and Chacin at #89 and Cahill at #123
I need to review my closers still but I see some definite closers that are ranked behind some maybe closers or setup guys. And I draft for saves.

Drafting for saves can be dangerous. I'd rather have high skill RPs than mediocre options that are expected to close. There's a ton of turnover every year at the position, obviously.
