Tex
Beltre
Young
Hamilton
Berkman
Halladay
Weaver

Berkman will gain eligibility at 1B in April to add on to OF
Young can play 1b,3b, and depending on your league maybe even 2b

With this versitility , this gives you more options during the draft. Plus other than Tex , these hitters hit for a high average . Lets you get a low average power hitter if you choose to do so. And you will have a solid 1 -2 punch in your rotation. It's easy to get closers in a 10 team league.Thats a good group of keepers.

Assuming there are no draft penalties or time limits on how long a player can be kept I have to agree with Dan's list and reasoning.

Same here, but I couldn't fault you for taking Zimmerman over Berkman.

Berkman is 35 and Pujols is gone. He also rebounded from a really bad, injury plagued 2010. So at his age and without Pujols (and is anyone scared of the Cards lineup without Pujols), how many think he can come close to 2011 stats?

M. Young is also 35. Like his value a lot, but he is no spring chicken and likely can be picked up in the draft's 1st or second round.

Opinions on Uggla and CJ Wilson? I know Uggla was bad the first half of last year, but he rebounded, is 31 and offers big power at 2b. He also could be available in the draft though. CJ Wilson put up some big numbers and while he will not have the Tex bats to help him now, he is out of the launching pad at Arlington too. He will not make it out of the first round of the draft imo but maybe I am over valueing him.

Here's my no doubt keepers:

Tex
Beltre
Hamilton
Halladay

That leaves 3 spots. I'd narrow it down to a choice between these players:

Uggla
M. Young
Berkman
Weaver
CJ Wilson
J. Zimmerman

Neither Young or Berkman seems like such a slam-dunk to produce that I'd want to keep them for their age 35+ seasons. Uggla is a consistent source of power at a power-scarse position, so I'd probably want him. Weaver is good enough to keep. I'd say take Wilson for the 3rd spot, but I'd hesitate to keep 3 pitchers out of only 7 keepers. I could see the argument for Young, however if you keep Beltre and Uggla you don't need him. Plugging Young into 1B is a waste. Wilson it is.

He might not be a real popular pick, but I can see taking Victorino before Berkman & CJ. Hamilton, Beltre, Tex Uggla all give you the same thing as Berkman. At least Victorino gives you some top of the order runs & sb's to go with 15-20 HR's. I was wrong about Berkman last year & I could be again, but I'm concerned about his ability to stay healthy again. No 1 else on your team runs much and sure you can get a big sb guy but you need some from the rest of the team as well and most of these guys won't get 5. Hamilton might not get you the 8 sb's he's been averaging, neither Young or Uggla will get you any sb's and 1 of them would be my 7th with Victorino as my 6th on this team. CJ will likely get drafted in the 70's alot, 2 of the 3 top 300 lists I've been looking at has him near the 90th pick. I'd prefer to go 5/2 hitters to pitchers with a tough call between Berkman, Uggla and Young getting the final spot with Victorino closely ranked with these but helping in cats the others from your squad won't. Toss Hansen and Romero in the discussion and all these ADP's are going to be fairly close, but only Victorino brings you something the rest of your keepers are lacking and is quite a bit younger than some of these hitters
fwiw: espn has Vict #60, Roto Summit #54, just looked and CBS's Scott White has him at #35 which seems way too high, but in a league that keeps 70 he's not a bad hold to these sites either (reguardless of the rest of your power roster)

I think the easy picks are Halladay, Weaver, Tex, Uggla and Beltre.

Two stud aces, two top Power CI, and a top power MI. Your other keepers are tough. Wilson could really breakout with the Angels and no longer the pressure of being a number 1 will help. Hamilton can easily be one of the best players in the game, but he is constantly injuried. Young could be a nice pick up, because he would qualify at multiple positions giving you flexibility, but could be available possibly in 3rd or 4thrd depending on your keepers. Zimmerman is also a personal fav and think he will have a great year and will be limited less than he was last year. You also cant down play was Freese did in the playoffs and what LoMo brings to the table.
