I am really torn on this, not sure what to do at all
I was gonna come in here and say that I'd rather have Bourn, but I don't think your pitching staff can handle the loss of Wilson so I'd just stand pat. If you think you can deal from your OF or catching depth and pick up a solid starter then I'd make the deal just because it's a good value trade.
my other friend in the league is willing to do Vogelsong and Billingsley or Vogel and Worley for Bourn
obviously that helps to hide the loss of wilson
i'd much rather have wilson than either of those sets of pitchers. if that's the best you can do then just hold onto wilson.
Yep. Especially since two of those guys were picked up off of the waiver wire last season. That should tell you a little something about starting pitching. Hold Wilson.
This is coming from me, a guy who loves Michael Bourn. Keep Wilson here. I see him having a great season and your staff can't handle the loss of him right now and Worley and Vogelsong are nice but not on Wilson's level. Keep him.
Agree with the others. I probably wouldn't risk losing Wilson (who I like much better than the other proposal that you could get back for Bourn) with the staff that you have. You have some high upside guys, but they all come with risks as well. You're not in dire need of sb's either.
In all honesty, your team looks to be lacking in the hitting department. I mean, you have Moose and Goldschmidt as starters in a 12 team league. They would be good backups, but shouldn't be starters IMO. While you do have a good source of SB, I would probably take Bourn (or Hart/Stubbs) and try to package him with Napoli for an elite hitter (Preferably a 3B) or SP. I would image a lot of teams could use Napoli for their catcher. He loses some value for you at DH IMO. And since you have Santana, you can afford to move him.
Your pitching staff could certainly benefit from a reliable guy like CJ Wilson. Though in all honesty, your staff is mainly comprised of gamble types of pitchers- prospects, guys shifting from RP to SP, and guys recovering from injury (I count 7 SP who fall into those categories). Zimmerman, Hellickson, and Pineda are certainly established and improving. But you are going to need some of those gamble guys to work out to remain competitive. With or without CJ Wilson.
Bourn is good in a H2H league as he could win you SB by himself. Take him and package an OF + Napoli for an established stud SP or a better power bat.
