Sup guys, I know it's still a little early and not every team has everything settled, but I wanted to try to compile a list of projected starting line ups. I'm closing in on finishing up my hitter projections (which I plan on sharing with the cafe), and I would like to see some opinions on how you all see your teams (or any other teams you're familiar enough with) looking as we head into spring training. I may want to tweak some of my projections based on where the hitter is most likely to hit in the line up and who will be before/behind them in the line up. I could probably figure out a decent amount of teams on my own, but I figured a group think might be more accurate. Thanks for any input.
Kansas City Royals: (L)Alex Gordon - LF (R)Lorenzo Cain - CF (L)Eric Hosmer - 1B (R)Billy Butler - DH (L)Mike Moustakas - 3B (R)Jeff Francouer - RF (R)Johnny Giavotella/(L)Chris Getz - 2B (Gio would bat here if he gets the starting spot, otherwise Getz would likely bat 9th) (R)Salvador Perez - C (R)Alcides Escobar - SS
I'd imagine with just 3 lefties they will want to keep them separated so I'd expect to see Gordon stay at leadoff and I would expect to see Mouse get a shot at the 5 hole early or at least get moved there if he's hitting well but he could easily hit behind Francouer as well. With a lot of this lineup being young it could really change a lot based on how everyone is hitting and if guys emerge or not.
The Twins are a complete disaster. Below is a pretty good guess at the starting lineup but the batting order is anybodies guess. Revere is going to start and I think Gardy sees him as an ideal leadoff hitter. Willingham gives them a righty near the top of the order. And the last 3 pretty much suck.
(R) SS - Escobar (L) CF - Rasmus (R) RF - Bautista (L) 1B - Lind (please be good again) (R) 3B - Lawrie (L) 2B - Johnson (R) DH - Encarnacion (R) C - Arencibia (L) LF -Snider/ Thames/Francisco/Davis/???
The 2nd spot could go a few ways to me. I'd like to Thames get a shot there. Maybe give Rasmus a chance a little lower down to start the season and build some confidence. Johnson could also see time there if he starts off well.
I'm guessing this is just batting order and not necessarily positions. can't see Encarnacion at 2B. it's too bad Bautista can't get better protection. Toronto should be changing their batting order based on RH/LH pitchers. Lind should not be batting behind Bautista against LH pitcher. easy walk to Bautista to face Lind, who is not that good against LH pitching.

Yes, it's batting order, positions would obviously change based on who hits in that spot.
(L) CF - Jacoby Ellsbury (R) 2B - Dustin Pedroia (L) 1B - Adrian Gonzalez (R) 3B - Kevin Youkilis (L) DH - David Ortiz (L) LF - Carl Crawford (S) C - Jarrod Saltalamacchia/ (R) Ryan Lavarnway (L) RF - Ryan Sweeney/(R) Darnell McDonald/(L) Ryan Kalish (R) SS - Marco Scutaro
Unless the Sox sign another right fielder, McDonald will probably platoon with Sweeney to begin the season until Ryan Kalish is healthy enough to play (probably May or June).
St. Louis Cardinals (S) SS - Furcal (S) RF - Beltran (R) LF - Holliday (S) 1B - Berkman (R) 3B - Freese (L) CF - Jay (R) C - Molina (L) 2B - Descalso
This is my best bet for opening day but you'll probably see a lot of different lineups because a lot of these guys are injury prone. Whenever Craig is healthy I think he pushes Jay to the bench.
