According to ESPN's Buster Olney, the Red Sox have acquired closer Andrew Bailey from the A's. Josh Reddick is headed to Oakland, possibly in a package of other prospects. Bailey, 27, has a 2.07 career ERA and 9.0 career K/9 through three major league seasons. He's expected to serve as Boston's primary ninth-inning man in 2012, pushing the newly-acquired Mark Melancon into a setup role. Bailey is eligible for arbitration for the first time this winter and is under team control through 2014. More to come. Source: Buster Olney on Twitter Dec 28 - 4:42 PM

Reddick, Head, Alcantara for Bailey and Sweeney
i find it hard to believe that this was the best package they could get. he's not gonna cost that much in arb and he's under team control for 3 more years. like really?

But between Reddick and Head but got two more OF / 1B to add to his collection. He couldn't let the Padres corner the market.
