International Free Agents

Postby Mateo de Lorenzo » Fri Dec 23, 2011 6:15 am

So, this is my first year commissioning a dynasty league. Its a new league and I have ironed out all the wrinkles except International Free Agents. So, now I am hoing from message board to message board seeking advice.

This is a 12 team H2H league. No salary cap.

Inaugural draft is for current MLB players only
Rookie draft is for minor leaguers only

With Aoki, Darvish and Cepedes coming over there are some managers who are interested.

If I let them go over to WW/FA then whoeve4r acts first or has best waiver wire at the time gets their pick, which seems less fair.

Currently I was planning on doing a FAAB budget just for them, but it has created some concern as someone who wants one bad enough can simply bid all 1000 and obtain him.

The other option I am considering is doing a random email generator for each player.\\Any other ideas?
Please help me with analyzing my team? viewtopic.php?f=29&t=433592

I would say allow ANYONE to be drafted in the regular draft (current MLBers, Intl, minor leagues if people want to reach for them) BUT they have to stay on the major league roster - thats the rub!

then you have your minor leaguer draft for anyone left over in the minors who was not taken in the regular version

I agree with the above poster more than your method. I would allow only current MLB to be taken in your draft. In the Minor League draft, just include everyone not on the MLB roster. If you start getting too technical, it just makes thing confusing.
