Curious as to why you like Peacock now more than before he was dealt...
Also curious why you think that. Gut reaction is that if anything, it's a little worse for him - yes, moving to Oakland's stadium helps, but the Nats stadium isn't hitter friendly, is it? And also, having to face the Angels/Rangers a bunch.
Great haul by them but they are going to sell those guys "high" too in about 2 off seasons. Cole and Norris should be keys to the deal Long Term. That said Oakland(could say same about San Diego but they have a better roster at this point) is really throwing in the towel as a franchise. I understand them trying to sell high on their young pitchers, but this is not meant as a rebuild. Sell off your talent every year to fleece the taxpayers for a new stadium. Then after a year or two repeat the pattern and continue to be sub mediocre while getting revenue sharing checks. Lew Wolff is so stinking cheap what he is doing is not even suitable for a "small market team" If the Mariners get Prince Oakland may as well forfeit the season.
Oakland has already thrown in the towel on the season. It's disappointing but they did get a nice haul for both (yes, for Cahill also). I think Oakland acted one year to soon with Cahill and Gio but an honest assessment of their offense said .500 at best this year.
