Rafael Palmeiro, who received a 10-day suspension in 2005 for a positive test but is among just four players with 500 homers and 3,000 hits, failed to gain election again, getting 12.6 percent of the vote in his second appearance on the ballot.
Well, when you put it like that...
Rocinante2: you know Rocinante2: its easy to dismiss the orioles as a bad team ofanrex: go on Rocinante2: i'm done Rocinante2: lmao
Seems like a lot of voters are deciding to blacklist an entire era. I said it here earlier and Jayson Stark said it in an article this week: The hall is a history museum and it's a shame that voters are choosing to forget about an entire era of the game.

I'm sure the steroid stigma alone hurt him. But it might work out for the best if Biggio and Bags go into the hall together. I actually wouldn't be surprised at all if they both get elected next year and are the only ones to get elected.

They won't forget about it. I have no doubt they will use their amazing powers of deduction and be able to let everyone know who was clean and who wasn't. There will be players from this era that get in under the assumption they were clean and there will be players who get held out under the assumption they were dirty. With many of the players there will be little evidence to back up either case.
Do you really see them not voting Griffey or Maddux in?
it's a shame that not only was Barry Larkin the only one to get in, but that other players aren't getting near the votes they should.
Tim Raines is one of the best leadoff hitters all time. he's 5th overall career in SB.
these players got votes.. Eric Young (0.2%), Javy Lopez (0.2%), Brad Radke (0.3%), Bill Mueller (0.7%), Tim Salmon (0.9%), Vinny Castilla (1.0%). http://bbwaa.com whoever voted for them should have their vote taken away. there's no reason to give them even 1 vote.
