Guys to keep an eye on in 2012

Postby kaiser » Thu Dec 08, 2011 3:04 pm

Every season, I keep an ongoing list on the desktop of my computer where I note the names of players who are performing well, or who appear to be on the verge of breaking out or moving to a higher level. I do this because I tend to forget about many of these guys during the off-season, if I don't write them down. I find that the list comes in very handy when it comes time to draft, to use as sort of my go-to players I'd like to land list.

Of course, some of these names will seem obvious to some, but I thought I would go ahead and post it here, and see if anyone wants to add any names.

Mark Trumbo is so good he gets listed twice.
Kipnis should be on that list somewhere I would think

HA! Trumbo: You're right... like I said, I keep this list throughout the year, and just add names as they occur to me, or as I start notcing them getting mentioned in highlights more and more.

I agree that Kipnis is one to add. And so I just did!

I like Ben Revere and Brad Peacock quite a bit going into 2012...

I'm going to be keeping an eye on Drew Pomeranz. Also, assuming that the Yankees don't add another starter, I'll be watching Hector Noesi this spring as well.

I don't like seeing a list with Hosmer and Jennings that doesn't include Lawrie.
Here's the pitch on the way, a swing and a belt! Left field! Way back! BLUE JAYS WIN!

Thoughts about Zack Cozart next year? He started off pretty hot before having season-ending surgery.

Delgado/Teheran/Vizcaino, whichever one(s) of them ends up in the Atlanta rotation.

Pineda

LoMo

Heyward

Carlos Santana

Iannetta

Mesoraco

CAMERON MAYBIN

maybe, finally, Gordon Beckham

Beltran, particularly if he ends up in Boston or Atlanta

Neftali Feliz and Aroldis Chapman as SP

I made a bet in 2003 that the Devil Rays would win the 2008 World Series. Oh so close.

I'm curious to know how the TJ surgery will impact his power potential, but you have to love the park and the lineup. I could see something like 0.275, 12 HR, 50-60 RBI, 70-80 runs, 15-20 steals.
