Tulo Kershaw Trade WHIR

Postby kirch5 » Mon Dec 05, 2011 11:41 pm

I am new to these boards so I am just putting this out there for your help.

I have an offer in a league that I need your opinions on and possibly a reason for your opinion

20 team league: 10 keepers: 5x5 cats

My current team
C Yadi Molina
1B Albert
2B Uggla
3B Wright
SS Alexei
OF Ichiro
OF Jennings
OF Fowler
UTIL Arencibia
UTIL Ryan Roberts
BN Chisenhall
BN Bourgeouis
BN Lorenzo Cain

SP Kershaw
SP Lincecum
SP Hellickson
SP Danks
SP Luebke
RP R. Betancourt

I trade Kershaw / Hellickson / Alexei

I get Tulo / Panda

my gut says pull the trigger b/c SS like tulo don't grow on trees but my pitching takes a hit

Just need some outside chatter to help me decide

Thanks guys
I appreciate it

I would take that deal. Like you said SS's like Tulo don't grow on trees. Gives you a killer offense in a 20 team league. Lincecum is a good start to your pitching staff, would just need to go early in the draft for some pitching.

Pujols/Tulo/Wright/Lincecum is a ridiculous way to start a 20 team keeper. ;-D

I'd also do it. Elite hitter > elite pitcher.

And yeah, in a 20 team league with 10 keepers, Pujols - Uggla - Wright - Tulo locks down your infield, then you can keep Sandoval, Jennings, Lincecum and two more on top of that. You might want to then turn around and deal either Panda or Wright for a stud OF, C, or SP. Given the lack of depth at 3B and the size of the league you should be able to demand, and get, quite a haul.

Anyway to substitute Linc for Kershaw? Probably not but I would rather have Kershaw if at all possible.

Deal looks pretty good to me. Only thing I don't like is that you are getting Pablo. You already have a 3B so it would be nice to get something that could help you more but again this might not be possible.

Still right now the trade looks good.

I attempted to sub in Tim but he didn't want it. I finally caved and decided a stud SS has more value than a Stud SP but it is my personal opinion. I like that the fact that I now have my infield set.

My current keepers are
Albert
Tulo
Wright
Panda
Uggla
Ichiro
Jennings
Lince
Luebke
Arencibia/Molina (not sure which one yet)

I am also in talks right now to move Panda/Wright and JPA/Molina for Gallardo/Kimbrel

or

Panda/Wright for Carlso Santana so I am far from done. I just want to go into the draft with the 10 best players that I can get so that way I can deal my strengths for depth and improve my overall roster

Can't fault you for making that deal. Kershaw is great, but Tulo is too much to pass up. Nice work.

I would move Sandoval for Santana, especially if you have no active spot for Sandoval. I don't think I would move Wright for Santana. I would need more in return.
