Chen resigned for 2 years. Sort of surprised at the Royals going 2 years, but not surprised Chen was looking for more than another 1 year deal.

Broxton signs a 1 year - $4m contract. Crow likely to AAA to stretch out into a starter.

With Crow in the bullpen, that might be the nastiest pen in baseball. Without him is still one of the best.

Updated with all the goings on as of late, mostly bad.

Soria, Perez, and Pina injured for the foreseeable future. Trade for backup catcher and utility OF. Crow back to the bullpen.

If Mendoza's leg is ok, it is going to be very hard to keep him out of the 5th spot considering he has no options left and Duffy does. Chen is struggling mightily this Spring and that 2 year contract is making me cringe.

Starting rotation if Opening Day was now could be:

With Duffy back to AAA to start the season.

Gio back to AAA, likely to be followed soon by Duffy. Mendoza has just been too good this Spring to let walk away from the club. I think Getz has the first shot at being the full-time 2B but if anyone in baseball would be on even footing in a position battle with Betancourt, it would be Getz. The bullpen still going to be an interesting decision with so many guys pitching well.
