Choose 1 Keeper, easy one. WHIR

Postby rjforlife » Wed Oct 19, 2011 4:19 pm

10 team, auction keeper, keep up to 6. Year 2, 5x5 Standard H2H, weekly changes.

I am keeping:

Verlander-22
Ellsbury-16
Kinsler-20
Gio Gonzalez-5
Bumgarner-7

For my last keeper, would you keep Braun-44, Kimbrel-5, Beachy-5, or none of these guys? Thanks and leave a link.
Goldy is King.

In a 10 team keeper, auction prices on high level players will probably get pretty inflated. Braun is pricey, but if he went for $44 last year then he'd probably go for even more this year. I'd keep him.

I'd keep Braun. You need the offense and I doubt he is cheaper at auction.

I think you should keep Kimbrel. Braun is a fantasy beast but you have him at value. Kimbrel would never go for $5 next year (I know he'd be over $20 in my auction) and since he's an elite closer, I value him over a starter like Beachy. There are just so many good starters and so few elite closers.

If you love Braun and want him back then you should be able to get him in the same price range. If someone else wants to spend $50 + on Braun in the auction then you should be happy. There are probably plenty of other players available at more premium positions that you could spend the money on if that happens.

Braun probly goes for more and is a perfect build around guy at a slight discount. Kimbrel might even be a better bargain then Gio or Bum tho I love both

I would keep Braun even at $44. He would probably go for near 50, and where as Kimbrel would probably push 20 depending on when he comes out in the auction, Braun will help fill up your offense.

Braun for me too. He'll go for the same price, more or less, likely pushing 50. For a top 3-5 batter, the $44 is about right.

I'd also keep Braun. Still good value at $44 and your keepers really need the big bat he provides.

Braun. Might be a little higher than I would want but in a shallow league top talent always wins. Kimbrel is at a nice price but a closer and a rookie equals way too much uncertainty.

Along with other arguments already posted, you've already got 3 very good value options at pitcher so go with that big stable bat. ;-D
