Depends on the pick. But I would be willing to take a late flyer on him. He has a ton of upside so could be a very nice addition for no value. With a late pick, these are the kinds of guys I usually look to get.
"In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and has been widely regarded as a bad move."- Douglas Adams
He could be done, but it's more likely that he had a really bad season. Call me crazy but maybe Ozzie Guillen being gone will bring the giant back to life. He's playing in a good hitters park too. He's just put up too many good seasons of top-notch homeruns as well as a killer OBP to become horrible that quickly. Depending on your league categories, your team needs and where he falls in the draft, I would take a stab. Good luck.
i'm almost positive he'll improve from his 2011 stats (how could he not?). he's 32, so I guess this is the beginning of his veteran years, but thats not an extremely old hitter at all.. I can't help thinking he'll be better (20-35 hr) once he settles into the AL and DH'ing.. the first ten years of his career was in the NL, so last year might've been a culture shock.. I don't know how else to explain such a crazy drop-off
I think Dunn's a great late-round sleeper for 2012. Though I suspect that the "comeback hype" that will inevitably build around him next year may wind up making him actually overvalued.
There's no denying that 2011 was a lost season, but just look at the rest of the guy's career. He's been the model of consistency- high power, low average. For half a dozen years, you knew pretty much to the letter what Dunn was giving you: 40HR, 100RBI, and .240 BA. If he regresses to 30/80/220, that's still worth owning in deeper mixed leagues. And you know exactly what his upside is.

I'm on a tight budget also, so i've been looking at players coming off injury and players that had an off year. Dunn, Crawford,Zimmerman to name a few. With Dunn being the biggest question mark.
