Keepers : I'm pretty much trying to figure out the best players to make my last few keepers. The position (s) listed as well as the salary next to their names are specific to my league. I am allowed to keep 13 players. I am committed to keeping 4 players already. Any opinions are welcome. Thanks.
Yunel should be kept, Morrow would give you 2 SP so he's my 2nd choice. after that I'm just as happy trying to redraft any of those at or below those prices. Scherzer would probably go for more than that, if you like him to lower that ERA he's acceptable too. I could go either way with the 2 SP depending if you wanted to spend alot on an ace then fill in around him
Thanks for the feedback guys. So this is the list I'm choosing from... This is the order I have them in as far as keepers at the moment. I need to pick 4, any feedback is appreciated.
Yunel Escobar, SS, $9 Brandon Morrow, SP, $14 Max Scherzer, SP, $15 Chris Sale, SP, $12 Brandon McCarthy, SP, $10 Russell Martin, C, $13 Wade Davis, SP, $5 Josh Tomlin, SP, $10
Looks like so far Escobar seems like a pretty safe bet because of his position and the fact he led AL shortstops in OBP and that's a category in my league. Scherzer and Morrow are my favorites of the pitchers because of their percieved high upside but I wasn't thrilled with their ERA's and WHIP's this season. I'm trying to figure out where the love is for Brandon McCarthy. He had a better statistical season than everyone else on the list in 2011. He pitches in Oakland, used to be a top ranked prospect and could be coming into his prime at age 28. I do like him. Is McCarthy a better long-term keeper than Sale? I'm concerned with Sale not starting for a couple seasons and since I'm playing to win I'm concerned they shut him down next season during the fantasy playoffs. Anyone else have any imput I'd appreciate it. I'm willing to comment on any post you have. Thanks.
