I'm in a 10-team league, ESPN H2H points. The entrance fee is $100 per player.
We're looking for some creative ways to spread out the winnings money. A first suggestion was to give the playoff winner $400, the playoff runner-up $200, and the regular season winner $400.
Another suggestion was that players would receive a certain amount of money per regular season win. So, for example, for each matchup a player's team wins, he gets $5 (or whatever number makes sense). That way, if a team finishes 1-17 in an 18 week season, they'd still get $5 back on their $100 investment. And the team with the best season record still gets the most money from this system, since they have the most wins. It basically gives everyone an incentive to stay interested all year long, so we thought it might be worth giving a shot.
Does anyone have any fresh ideas on a clever way to spread out the money? Feel free to share how your league does it or whatever. Not necessarily looking for an innovative system to manage the money, we're just kicking the tires on trying something new.
Thanks in advance.
