Roy Oswalt Phi SP
Clayton Kershaw LAD SP

I won my league this year; and did it on the wing of the young players. I was thinking about going with Cabrera, Kemp, Gonzalez, Kershaw and Feliz. Not sure what to do with the last spot. I like Beltre, Lawrie, Hosmer, Jennings and Martinez here. Martinez is the top two at his position and Beltre and Lawrie are in a very weak position. But both Hosmer and Jennings showed a lot making this a very tough decision for me. Any help here would be appreciated!

Yuck, I hate that you have to keep a closer....

With only 4 offensive keepers, I think you have to go with your sure-things....I don't think you have room to take a chance on Jennings, Hosmer or Lawrie......I would go Beltre here. He hits cleanup in one of the best lineups in baseball, he is proven and his babip suggests his average goes up next year (from an already impressive .296)

Yea, I hate keeping a closer as well. It was voted on to keep the player pool full of good players each year to give the lower-finishing teams a better chance in the next draft. Yea someone dropped Beltre the last week of August, and I picked him up with intentions of him being my final keeper. I was really torn between he and Martinez. The only concern I have with Beltre is injury. But looking at his past, it doesn't look to be a trend and can only hope that isn't a start brought on with age. But, thanks for the quick reply! Any and all feedback is helpful and a have a while until I have to make a final decision on this.

I think I would keep Jennings or Hosmer. It is tough giving up Beltre but the combination of his age (33 in April), 4 very strong keepers and 2 very good young players, I would take a chance on Jennings or Hosmer. I personally would take Hosmer, he has done nothing but hit at every level and what I hear from scouts/"experts" he has everything to be another great 1B. Jennings is very good but there are lot more concerns about his future than there is about Hosmer.

If that holds true, all the more reason to keep Feliz this year.

I like Rump's list.

Hate to let go the young guys, but in a ten team league you need to keep the studs. You can probably get one of those guys back in the draft if you really want and then might be able to keep one next year after seeing how they play out.

Agree unless your league is like all of mine and deducts for using SP in RP slots

I'd go with this too. I also wouldn't worry about Feliz starting and if anything, that just makes him more valuable.
