Yet Another Keeper Question. WHIR

Postby stlcards02 » Tue Oct 04, 2011 2:28 pm

Just looking for a couple of opinions on where to go with my team. I feel like I have an idea, but wanting some reinforcement. It is a 20-team h2h points league, QS and CG's rewarded and 1IP = 3 pts, 1.2 for K's. For batters it's pretty standard, 3 pts for an SB and the usual. We keep 8.

Here's what's left of my team after cutting the scrubs:

2B: Utley*
SS: Dee Gordon
3B: Longoria*
OF: Holliday*, Zobrist

Sp: Kershaw*, Shields*, Ubaldo*, Kimbrel, Masterson, Humber, Walden, Floyd

Obviously there are some that aren't keeper worthy, but I'm holding onto them so others can't pick them up, as it is a 20 team league.

Marked above are the ones I'm leaning, leaving three of Zobrist(726 pts), Masterson(615 pts), Kimbrel(607). Pitching is highly coveted in this league, so I'm thinking I could move someone not named Kershaw along with Utley for an upgrade.

I have a couple offers and will list them down below too, thanks for looking. It's probably an easy decision, but oh well.

Receive Felix Hernandez
Receive Jeremy Hellickson
Send Chase Utley
Send Ubaldo Jimenez
Send Justin Masterson

Receive Troy Tulowitzki
Receive Matt Garza
Send Chase Utley
Send Ubaldo Jimenez
Send Gavin Floyd

Send Ubaldo Jimenez
Receive Asdrubal Cabrera
Receive Rick Porcello
Receive Chad Billingsley

Send Clayton Kershaw
Receive Joey Votto

Send Clayton Kershaw
Receive Eric Hosmer
Receive Jaime Garcia
Receive Mat Latos

The first two are ones that I've sent, could be better offers, but this league low-balls left and right, and you'd be surprised and what get's offered. Any of these close, or would help me with keepers/trade chips?

cards,

please check out my post on lester vs. kennedy in a keeper and let me know what you think/why. i'm not keeping michael young.

i'd say don't keep utley (hit .187 against lefties, OPS down 150 points in 2 years) and don't keep ubaldo (1.5 mediocre/bad seasons).

i'd keep kimbrel and zobrist instead.

Send Ubaldo

Get Crawford, E.Santana

You almost have to take that trade if you think that Crawford will come close to resembling his old self next year. If so, you might have a top 10-15 outfielder and this trade is a steal. I would do it. The reward outweights the risk, I think.
