I had thought this practice stopped after the Lou Pinella deal a few year back but apparently I was wrong.
White Sox acquired SS Osvaldo Martinez and RHP Jhan Marinez from the Marlins for manager Ozzie Guillen. The odd agreement was finalized on Tuesday afternoon, with Guillen signing a four-year contract to the be the new manager of the Miami Marlins. Martinez, a 23-year-old infielder, was selected in the 11th round of the 2006 MLB Amateur Draft. He's a decent defender with good speed, but is far from a major prospect. Marinez is a 23-year-old middle reliever. Source: Bruce Levine on Twitter Sep 27 - 2:40 PM
I wonder if Ozzie actually saw the new Marlins logo before he agreed to the deal. I'm guessing no, because having to stare at that atrocity everyday for 4 years should be a deal breaker.

I was wondering the same thing. I havent seen anything online or on mlbtraderumors indicating salary amount. does the fact that he is moving to Florida make a big difference tax wise?
Is the Marlins front office brain-dead?! Did they not see him make a complete ass of himself in the Chicago media? If someone is that charismatic and fun to hear about and they still get eviscerated by the media like Ozzie did, he must be a pretty bad manager.

All of that evisceration by the media is much more preferred by the Marlins than the complete lack of caring they currently receive. If he gets more than 400 people to the ballpark, how he manages is inconsequential, especially playing in the same division as Philly.
