Quick Help - Lineup for Tonight - WHIR

Postby sigriffey » Tue Sep 13, 2011 2:06 pm

I need some advice on my lineup for tonight. My question surrounds Crawford, Beltran and Sandoval. I can play 2 of the 3.
Crawford vs. Morrow (Fenway)
Beltran vs. Luebke (SF)
Sandoval vs. Luebke (SF)

Which two would you play?

Tough call. I'd lean towards benching Crawford though. He hasn't been particularly good lately and has 0 SB in the past few weeks. Both Sandoval and Beltran are hitting well and SF against Lubeke, while not being ideal, doesn't scare me. Beltran is OPS'ing .879 against lefties. Sandoval.... well, he hits lefties considerably worse. Might have to go with Crawford over Sandoval.

Honestly, these are all pretty good options. Just go with your gut.

Thanks man. I need to have an awesome day today. My pitching let me down big time yesterday. Felix, Beachy, Lilly ... aweoms eday with K's but 16 IP and a whopping 13 earned runs is brutal.

I am winning 7-6 and have Cain, Luebke and Greinke today. He has 1 inning this week but has Verlander, Hamels and Minor tonight. Obviously my goal is to pound him with innings, K's and make a play for wins. And pound away with the offense. Currently winning 7-6.

If you've got Lubeke yourself, that would tip it in favor of benching Sandoval. His splits vs. lefties are not encouraging and if you're starting Lubeke yourself you might as well make use of an unproductive day by Sandoval. Then again... you'd HATE to have him have a great day and take the hit with Lubeke's poor stats. Sheeh. Tough call. Gun to my head, bench Sandoval though.

Good point.

I have two moves left for the week. I am thinking spend one on a hitter I can play Thursday so I will have a full lineup plus an extra game from Bonifacio. Any suggestions? Ibanez comes to mind, but with Philly nearing a clinch, it's no gaurantee he plays both games. Maybe that guy Michael Martinez? alternately, maybe there is a hitter not in the double header that has an awesome thursday matchup and would be of benefit over the weekend? Preferably an OF maybe but I'm open.

And I'd welcome any suggestions on a SP to add with my final move...

Available SP (I've only listed the halfway-respectable to decent options.... they seem to just get worse as the week proceeds which is a big reason i grabbed Luebke for tonight's start at SF)

Wednesday --
Wade Davis @ BOS
Bud Norris vs. Phil
Randall Delgado vs. Fla
Hochever vs. Min

Thursday-- (though picking up one of these would preclude me from grabbing a hitter for Thursday)
Kyle Kendrick vs. FLA
Eveland vs. Pitt
Ogando vs. Cle

Friday--
Stauffer vs. Ari
Narveson @CIN

Saturday--
Porcello @Oak (vs. Gio)
Volquez vs. Mil
Surkamp and Pomeranz are both available in the SF @ COL game
I could try to reclaim Lilly for his game vs. Pitt but he may get picked up b/c i dropped him for Luebke

Sunday--
Gee @ ATL
Saunders @SD
