8 teams Yahoo h2h standard 10 cats 1st place keeps up to 7 players 2nd place keeps up to 10 players 3rd place on down keeps up to 15 players
We are in the final four. I'm the 3 seed. I'm carrying a few guys to keep for next year but should I consider dropping them for actual help? For instance I've been carrying Bryce Harper for next year, and I picked up Hanley Ramirez (who was dropped) and put him on my DL. Will he even be worth anything next year?
*= probable keepers
C Joe Mauer* 1B Paul Konerko 2B Brett Lawrie* 3B Alex Gordon* SS Derek Jeter OF Carlos Gonzalez* OF Jacoby Ellsbury* OF Mike Trout
2 utility starters as well out of... Ben Zobrist (1B/2B/OF), David Ortiz (DH), James Loney (1B), Lance Berkman (IB/OF), Mike Carp (IB/OF),
NA- Bryce Harper (C/OF)* DL- Hanley Ramirez (SS)*
5 SP & 3 P spots available each day Roy Halladay* Tim Lincecum* Dan Haren* Ian Kennedy* Ubaldo Jimenez Chris Carpenter Jeff Niemann Jeremy Hellickson* Stephen Strasburg*
3 RP spots available each day Brian Wilson* (DL but no slot because of Hanley) Joakim Soria Sergio Santos Ryan Madson David Hernandez
Because you are in the playoffs I would drop Carp and Loney (definitely not keepers) and stream those 2 spots with SP's.
If there are any closers out there I would pick them up and drop Santos (his job is not secure). I would also probably drop Wilson (he wouldn't be a keeper for me)
Here is who I would keep:
1) OF Carlos Gonzalez 2) OF Jacoby Ellsbury 3) SP Roy Halladay 4) SP Tim Lincecum 5) 1B Paul Konerko 6) 2B Brett Lawrie 7) SS Hanley Ramirez keep above 7 if you win
8) C/OF Bryce Harper 9) SP Stephen Strasburg 10) SP Dan Haren keep above 10 if you get 2nd place
11) SP Adam Wainwright 12) 3B Alex Gordon 13) C Joe Mauer 14) SP Ian Kennedy 15) OF Mike Trout or SS Derek Jeter keep above 15 if you get 3rd place
You can guarantee there will be closers available at the end of the draft in an 8 team league, so don't keep Wilson
I only disagree on Kennedy. I live in Arizona (tho not a Dbacks fan) and I see him pitch all the time. He has really good stuff. This year isn't a fluke. The wins are, but not the other stats.

I'm not down on Kennedy by any means....I like Kennedy, Hellickson, and Carpenter as keepers, but your elite core of Halladay, Lincecum, Strasburg, Haren and Wainwright allows you to keep more offense than pitching....
