I am in a very close race with three/four people for second place and I want to solidify my offense. Adam Jones has been struggling big time lately and I think it might be since he got really sick last week and was taken to the hospital...I want to know if I should give up on him and ride the hot hands until the end of the season or stick with him. My first/best option right now looks like David Murphy since he has a solid place in Texas' lineup and has been playing very well for a good team...the other options that I also like are Lucas Duda, Alex Presley and Vlad. Any suggestions/opinions? THANKS!!

Riding the hot hand will definitely help you. I would try my best not to drop Adam Jones though for at least another week or so. I do think he has been affected, but not so badly that the rest of his season will be lost. I would try to drop a RP to play the hot offensive hand (Betancourt, maybe? with Street almost back up to form). David Murphy will be a solid choice for you. It's a shame you don't have some bench spots for situations like this.

Don't drop Jones quite yet, unless your league counts holds which it doesn't seem like it from your roster I would go ahead and drop Betancourt, to pick up Murphy first and ride him till he cools or until Cruz comes back or until Jones starts performing again. If you can't get Murphy then pick up Duda. If you can't handle Jones' lack of production then I would go out and pick up both Duda and Murphy, but just remember Rollins should be coming off the DL sometime next week so you are going to need to drop someone to bring him back but from the sound of it he will not be ready to go come September 6th when he is eligible to come off the DL.

I'd dump betancourt for Murphy. Ride him out. If he falters then quickly grab Presley.

Betancourt will not be the closer for long. If you feel you need a better stick, hold onto Jones and drop RB.
