Need to make room for Street (WHIR)

Postby BUCCOFAN » Fri Aug 26, 2011 9:47 pm

I need to drop one of the following for H.Street who is on the DL, coming back tonight. H2H league. Yahoo 14 teams

Actually would like to dump 2 guys below, and pick up Viciedo in the process.....

SP - Verlander
SP - Kershaw
SP - Shields
RP - Madson
RP - Guerra
RP - Parnell
P - Marcum
P - Chacin
P - Bard

BENCH:
SP - Nolasco (has been down right awful for 2 months now)
SP - Billingsley (still affective here and there)
RP - Isringhausen (looks to be out as closer, but it is a 14 team league. we count holds etc.)

Since your league counts holds, I would say drop Nolasco.

Apparently Street isn't getting the closers job back right away though

Rockies manager Jim Tracy said that even though Huston Street is back from the disabled list, Rafael Betancourt will remain his closer for the time being.
"I'm not going to pull the plug on Betancourt right now," Tracy said. "I can't do that... can't do it. It's a decision that's being made in the best interests of the players and the club, period." Betancourt converted all three of his save chances while Street was on the shelf, and he's yet to give up an earned run in the second half, allowing up only five hits and one walk while striking out 28 over 16 2/3 innings. We'll probably see Street back in the ninth inning before the end of the year, but we can't blame Tracy for keeping a red-hot Betancourt in the role for now.
