In first place. 12-team mixed 6x6 keeper (OBP extra offensive category, Losses the extra pitching). Through a great draft, keepers, some key trades and waivers, I have pretty much a juggernaut (and please know this is a savvy league, no saps, lots of heavily involved owners, but I just got lucky dealing for/away guys at the right time, and made some good FA moves like Bonifacio, Jemile Weeks, who have plugged some holes for DL'd guys). In first or near the top in HR/RBI/AVG/OBP/R/Saves, but those are tight. Up big in WHIP/ERA/Steals. Punted Wins.
CURRENT TEAM:
C-Avila
1B - Votto
2B - J.Weeks
SS- Bonifacio
3B - Bautista
OF - Kemp, J.Upton, Cargo, Bourn
DH - Berkman
Ps: (punted wins/K's in favor of Saves/WHIP/ERA) Kimbrel, Mariano, Hanrahan, League, Walden, Betancourt, Downs, Pestano, Sale, Affeldt, Romo.
DL: Reyes, R. Weeks.
I'm in first place by a couple points, just made following deal with a rebuilding team dumping:
I gave: Jose Bautista, Colby Rasmus, Chris Sale
I got: Curtis Granderson, Adrian Gonzalez, Andrew Bailey
HATED losing Bautista on several levels -- he's the best keeper in the league (22nd round for next two years) which is why this guy wanted him, he's got elite power, and his OBP is through the roof. BUT, Gonzo's OBP ain't far behind, Granderson has Bautista-like power AND has more RBI/R/SB, and Bailey, while not an elite closer should help me close the gap in a category I stand to gain some points. And while I now have some lineup decisions to make each day (can only start 4 OF and one DH and I have Grandy, Kemp, Cargo, Upton, Bourn, Berkman to juggle), that's not a bad problem to have, I figured.
So, is this enough for Jose? Did I brutalize the guy on my way to a (hopeful) title?
