well if you have four closers in a 24 team league, you are probably dominating saves? No? You only need to win the category by 1 save, so Im guessing you could dangle one of the closers to upgrade at MI, or C, or even SP .. IE its a waste ..
Now if you aren't dominating saves, or are chasing the category to make up ground, then disregard my comment ..
Both my teams have been on fire the last 6-ish weeks. I don't know whether my slow start this year was because I didn't study every minute detail of the Baseball Forecaster in triplicate as per usual.......or from being very time-poor in March/April
Brandon Allen = 2HRs Lucas Duda = another HR Allen Craig = 2/4 and another start in CF

it's a pts league but I will be dangling one in the offseason. but at the trade deadline none of my closers were sure things other than Melancon but he goes 2 weeks in between saves. And I also am partly responsible for a closer shortage and a few of my potential opponents don't have 2 closers (start two). And I'm definitely not going to trade to make an opponent better.

but but but batters have their own award too. The Hank Aaron award.
I say if a pitcher has a type of year where he is clearly the most dominant player in the league (like Pedro in '99, though he didn't win it) then he deserves to win the MVP
I think I had this discussion in the MVP thread. baseball might have a Hank Aaron award, but I wouldn't consider that one of the major awards. the Hank Aaron award was just introduced in 1999. how long has MVP been around? MVP is still the top award in baseball. IMO the top 2 awards are MVP and Cy Young. one for batters and one for pitchers. baseball could have 2 MVP awards. one could be Most Valuable Player and the other could be Most Valuable Pitcher. expect baseball already has the 2nd one, it's just named Cy Young.
