Oh, you're talking about Perez. I just dropped Pestano for janssen so this bears watching.

a pitcher should be able to win the Cy Young every season. the MVP? nope.
pitchers have their own award, the Cy Young.
pitchers are still players, but I look at them as pitchers AND (offensive)players.

but but but batters have their own award too. The Hank Aaron award.

I say if a pitcher has a type of year where he is clearly the most dominant player in the league (like Pedro in '99, though he didn't win it) then he deserves to win the MVP

Aside from Greinke's overall not being great, Shields imploding a bit now, Cueto missing a month, Zimmerman not striking anyone out, Kimbrel almost losing his job, Madson losing his job and getting hurt, Walden being shaky, Clippard and Venters just being good setup men, then yes, gold ALL year long.......

Greinke has been ridic unlucky, Shields still has great overall numbers, cueto has very good numbers thanks to a lot of luck, zimmermann has very good numbers with a decent strikeout rate. kimbrel has great numbers with a ridic strike out rate, madson still has good overall numbers, walden has very good overall numbers, clippard and venters have put up a combined 8 win and 5 saves with 140 innings of 1.30 ERA, 0.90 WHIP and 163 strike outs.

i don't see the problem.
