Drop Gardner for Maybin? WHIR,LL

Postby KaPluie » Sun Aug 21, 2011 6:03 pm

Maybin has been a beast in the second half this year, and is a FA in my league. I'm thinking of replacing Gardner with Maybin, now that is looks like Gardner will bat 9th for the foreseeable future. Who would you rather have as a source of steals and runs? Maybin is actually higher ranked than Gardner now, and has done nearly all of his damage in the second half.

Thanks for the reply.

I'd go with Maybin. I think Gardner can run, and catch really well. Everything else is just near average. You need someone who can hit.

Toss up. Gardner is still on the Yankees, even hitting 9th, whereas Maybin remains on the Padres. Gardner has been cold for the last week or two, and Maybin has been hot. I'm sticking with Gardner, personally, because I think Maybin and his team will get back to not scoring runs soon enough.

I'd go with Maybin but Gardener is on the Yanks.

I don't think you'd lose either way.
