It's almost playoff time and Mauer just isn't showing power and is still in pain. Avila has been solid all year. Should I pick up and play Avila and bench Mauer or ride out Mauer? Thanks!

I'd take Avila over Mauer, no question.
Seems a shame to ditch Mauer if you have lesser talents on your roster though -- who else do you have that's underperforming or less valuable?
Help me get ready for the championship run:

I won't drop Mauer, I would only bench him and play Avila. I have an extra roster spot because my league allows streaming, so I picked up Avila to start at C and let Mauer ride the pine for now. Just looking for thoughts on which one to start?

Don't drop Mauer, but bench him for Avila for the time being.

This one is pretty unanimous. Ride Avila because he is an excellent option to have.

I have to disagree. Love Avila, but you don't take Mauer for the power. Gotta go with Mauer, but I wouldn't object to playing Avila when the matchup is right.

Definitely slot in Avila for now (he's been INSANE so far this month), but putting Mauer on the bench seems like a shame. Either slot him into a Util/DH slot if you can, or else try to get a trade in to shore up any other weaknesses before the deadline if you can.
Please take a look at mine:
