Help me make my team a champion! WHIR

Postby CubsFan4Life23 » Tue Aug 16, 2011 11:38 am

I am looking for feedback on my weak spots of my team. I think it would be speed and saves. With that said, what players should I be looking to deal to improve and what players should I be looking to target.

Also, do I add Chapman or Pranell since Izzy seems to be out as closer? And the only speed guy on the WW is Ben Revere...not sure if he is worth an add.

leave a link!!! ;-D

my team (12 teams H2H, keep 4 per year, 5x5)
C - Aliva
1B - M Cabrera
2B - Prado
SS - Tulo
3B - Zimmerman
OF - Berkman
OF - JUpton
OF - Morse
U - S Choo
U - S Victorino
Bench - Ackley
Bench - A. Gordon
DL - Tabata

SP - Halladay / Cain / DHudson / Garza / IKennedy / Lilly
RP - Nathan / Farnsworth / Izzy

Probably pick up Parnell for Izzy but be prepared for some bumps in the road.

You have a great team. You are weak on relievers and SBs, as you mentioned, and the back of your starting rotation could some bolstering.

I would suggest:
- getting rid of Choo, Gordon, and/or Berkman
- getting rid of Garza and Lilly
- adding a hitter with power potential AND speed
- adding a pitcher who has favorable matchups down the stretch

Be creative in packing these guys for deals -- it's tougher to match value when you offer a pitcher for a hitter, and vice versa. Of course, the who and the how depends who is on the trading block, and who is on the waiver wire.

So saying I should probably look to deal Berkman for an SP...would you trade him straight up for Ubaldo, Gallardo, or Romero?
