Keeping CarGo... thoughts?

Postby TheGhost » Sun Aug 14, 2011 6:03 am

I play in a ten team yahoo keeper league. We get to keep 6 players and we get to keep them at the round we drafted them in except one round higher then the year before. I have a lot of good value players such as Hosmer, Pineda, Morse, Castro, etc. Last year I drafted CarGo and Halladay with my 1st two picks. I've been leaning towards letting them go so I can get those two picks back. Should I do this or should I play it safe and keep my top pick?

Without knowing the specifics of the league, it's hard to say here: how many people draft in the first round? How many big stars get put back? That sort of thing.

In a general sense, I do like it. The two considerations I can come up with now are that if someone's worth a first rounder, the owners will keep them as there's no downside to keeping them. So, you're not getting Pujols or Hanley in the first round. But that should eliminate enough other owners from being there in that round that you could at least get your own players back.

If you think that's the worst case for you, I'd risk it.

I agree. Keep the 4 you mentioned in the later rounds.

Help with mine?
