When does the DL kick in for Yahoo?

Postby drunkenmonkey » Tue Mar 30, 2004 9:31 pm

Does anyone know when we'll be able to move players to the DL on Yahoo? I've got Larry Walker eating a spot on my bench.
It's time to roll the dice.

I'll take a stab at this. OI was wondering about Byung-hole Kim this afternoon, and someone pointed out that the Sox haven't had to pare down their rosters yet(as the Rays and Bombers have had to). I'm kinda new to baseball but I guess rosters don't have to be trimmed until just before the team's first game? So that's probably when they will be DL elig. Kim possibly on Sunday for example.

It is all based on the injury reports they have on the main league page. I kept checking this afternoon and FINALLY about 4:00 I was able to move Lieber to my DL (I then picked up Affeldt).

My hope is that as players start going on the official DL's, Yahoo will let you move them to the league DL (I believe a day later).

Thus tomorrow you should be able to move: Nen, Larson, Eyre, Prior, Remlinger

Hope this helps ;-D

I can't wait to get Donnelly onto my list!! He's apparently going to be out for a while and the descriptions of his injury really are kind of stomach churning.

This is my first year in a yahoo! league. It seems like you can't grab a free agent and send him directly to your DL. Is that true?

Instead, you'd have to waive someone, grab the guy you want, then put him on DL and hope you can get the other guy back., right?

If so, that sucks.

keep checking the injur reports at research and analysis. If your player's name is on it, then you'll be able to put him in DL.

You probably won't be able to put players on the DL in Yahoo until they're officially on the DL in real life. For example, Lieber could be placed on the DL because the Yankees have opened their season. However, with most everyone else still in spring training, those teams don't have their rosters set quite yet and haven't placed their players onto the DL.
