Pick up Lawrie or Kipnis? WHIR, always!

Postby BiGAnT » Sat Aug 13, 2011 1:41 pm

So after McCarthy's bad game last night (I'll cut him a break since it was TEX) and him getting hit on his knee and being listed day-to-day, AND with Brandon Phillips being semi-injured and missing "5 games" (he says), I want to drop McCarthy and pick up one of these two 2nd basemen so I can plug him in for Phillips. Here's the question though: Is it worth it for just a few games? I have Jhonny Peralta at 3rd and he hasn't had a HR or an RBI for a while so I figure with Lawrie I can use him at 3rd even when Phillips comes back. BUT Lawrie bats 9th which SUCKS and Kipnis bats 2nd and may have more pop at this point, but he would basically be a waste once Phillips comes back...OR I could go with Encarnacion over Peralta since he's got pop and bats in the middle of Toronto's lineup, who's 4-5 in the league in scoring...any suggestions/opinions?? THANKS, help ALWAYS returned! ;-D

I like Lawrie as well. He will see better pitches since he's low in the lineup, and if this is a keeper league then it's a no brainer.
