Ha, redemption came quick. I'm a genius, apparently.

This is not a ,"yeah duh" situation. Not even for Oswalt (some one stated earlier) When you consider the shallow depth at 3B this year, you should hold on to Longoria. Ride it out and see where he takes you. You might be in for a Braun-esk ride. Sit tight and hold on.

In a thread about Jose Cruz Jr from 2003...
http://www.fantasybaseballcafe.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=26288&start=10

they could have done worse, like the mets with cameron

Later in the thread...

the mets still have a lot of needs though, and cruz will make 4 million less a year than cameron. they could fill another hole with that money, but it is the mets so they would probably blow it anyways.

Seems not much has changed. :-B

I miss AA. :,-(

pretty spot on, if you ask me..

lastingsgriller wrote:there is no way you don't keep Tulowitzki here.. only losing a 19th rd selection to do so.. try to think way back to how good Tulo was 2 years ago.. he was sweet.. power, average, rbi's.. if you can get that player for basically free its a major steal.. and remember.. with the lack of roids in baseball power numbers are going down all over the place and the place that is most evident is at the middle infield positions.. if you have a middle infielder puttin balls over the fence and knocking in RBI's, you have a huge advantage since there just aren't very many of them any more.. the days of Bret Boone hitting 50 HR are long gone.. we are back to the days when Ryne sandberg was a fantasy force because he could hit 30 HR and knock in 90.. which is something other middle infielders just couldn't do..

I entered with a bang!

beatdrum wrote:A friend of mine posed a question to me recently and I thought I would bring it to this forum. The question...

Who would win in a 20 game series between players who are in the Hall of Fame now against players who are not currently in the Hall of Fame (for whatever reason). We assume that all players are in their prime.

We came up with our rosters...

Hall of Fame team
C - Johnny Bench
C - Carlton Fisk or Josh Gibson
1 - Lou Gerhig
1 - Stan Musial
2 - Rogers Hornsby
2 - Joe Morgan
SS - Honus Wagner, Cal Ripken,
SS - Ozzie Smith, or Ernie Banks
3 - Brooks Robinson
3 - Mike Schmidt
LF - Babe Ruth
CF - Ty Cobb
RF - Willie Mays
OF - Ted Williams
OF - Hank Aaron

SP - Walter Johnson
SP - Sandy Koufax (L)
SP - Christy Matthewson
SP - Steve Carlton (L)
SP - Bob Gibson
P - Nolan Ryan
P - Tom Seaver
P - Grover Cleveland Alexander
P - Lefty Grove (L)
CL - Dennis Eckersley

Non-HOF Team
C - Ivan Rodriguez
C - Mike Piazza
1 - Mark McGwire
1 - Jeff Bagwell
2 - Ryne Sandberg
2 - Roberto Alomar
SS - Alex Rodriguez
SS - Maury Wills
3 - Scott Rolen or
3- Wade Boggs
LF - Barry Bonds (L)
CF - Ken Griffey Jr. (L)
RF - Rickey Henderson
OF - Tony Gwynn (L)
OF - Pete Rose

SP - Roger Clemens
SP - Randy Johnson (L)
SP - Pedro Martinez
SP - Tom Glavine
SP - Bert Blyleven
P - Tim Hudson
P - Kevin Brown
P - Greg Maddux
P - Curt Schilling
CL - Lee Smith or Mariano Rivera

Now we have a two-fold question. Who are some notable ommisions from each team, and which team has an advantage?

Shoeless Joe is a notable omission. And which ever team he bets on is where my money is going ;-)
