Ha, redemption came quick. I'm a genius, apparently.
Re: Longoria predictions for 08?? by urbanbreez » 15 Apr 2008 15:36
This is not a ,"yeah duh" situation. Not even for Oswalt (some one stated earlier) When you consider the shallow depth at 3B this year, you should hold on to Longoria. Ride it out and see where he takes you. You might be in for a Braun-esk ride. Sit tight and hold on.
they could have done worse, like the mets with cameron
Later in the thread...
the mets still have a lot of needs though, and cruz will make 4 million less a year than cameron. they could fill another hole with that money, but it is the mets so they would probably blow it anyways.

beatdrum wrote:A friend of mine posed a question to me recently and I thought I would bring it to this forum. The question...
Who would win in a 20 game series between players who are in the Hall of Fame now against players who are not currently in the Hall of Fame (for whatever reason). We assume that all players are in their prime.
We came up with our rosters...
Hall of Fame team C - Johnny Bench C - Carlton Fisk or Josh Gibson 1 - Lou Gerhig 1 - Stan Musial 2 - Rogers Hornsby 2 - Joe Morgan SS - Honus Wagner, Cal Ripken, SS - Ozzie Smith, or Ernie Banks 3 - Brooks Robinson 3 - Mike Schmidt LF - Babe Ruth CF - Ty Cobb RF - Willie Mays OF - Ted Williams OF - Hank Aaron
SP - Walter Johnson SP - Sandy Koufax (L) SP - Christy Matthewson SP - Steve Carlton (L) SP - Bob Gibson P - Nolan Ryan P - Tom Seaver P - Grover Cleveland Alexander P - Lefty Grove (L) CL - Dennis Eckersley
Non-HOF Team C - Ivan Rodriguez C - Mike Piazza 1 - Mark McGwire 1 - Jeff Bagwell 2 - Ryne Sandberg 2 - Roberto Alomar SS - Alex Rodriguez SS - Maury Wills 3 - Scott Rolen or 3- Wade Boggs LF - Barry Bonds (L) CF - Ken Griffey Jr. (L) RF - Rickey Henderson OF - Tony Gwynn (L) OF - Pete Rose
SP - Roger Clemens SP - Randy Johnson (L) SP - Pedro Martinez SP - Tom Glavine SP - Bert Blyleven P - Tim Hudson P - Kevin Brown P - Greg Maddux P - Curt Schilling CL - Lee Smith or Mariano Rivera
Now we have a two-fold question. Who are some notable ommisions from each team, and which team has an advantage?
