Heyward/Beckett for Cliff Lee in a dynasty. WHIR

Postby Yankeesin05 » Thu Aug 11, 2011 5:01 pm

It's a 16 team H2H dynasty league in which we keep 16 players every year. The league has been going on for 6 years. I have no shot for the playoffs this year, mostly due to injuries. So I wanted to take this time to sort of revamp my team and get younger, as this league is not ending anytime soon. What are your thoughts on this trade? The trade I posted the other day didn't work out, but I have another opportunity to get a young stud. I really would love to get Heyward. I really Beckett, but I'd probably be able to trade him before the deadline. Colon and Soriano are just throws ins pretty much as I won't be keeping them. There's also some draft picks in there that favor me for next year. I like it, but I'd like some more opinions. Leave a link and I'll help you when I get home form work later tonight.

I get Heyward, Beckett, Porcello

He gets Cliff Lee, Colon, Alfonso Soriano

My Team:

I definitely agree that your team needs to get younger. Berkman, ARod, and Soriano won't be around forever.

Since you already have Marcum, with some help from Garza and Cueto, you have a solid pitching staff for the future. Swapping Lee for Beckett is a downgrade, as you know, but both guys are getting up there and if you're willing to weather Beckett's bumpier later years then that's not so bad. The real piece is getting Heyward for years to come, and an outfield of Heyward/Crawford/Quentin looks reeeeaal good in the long run.

Yep, do it.
