Which guy to drop on offense to pick up a pitcher

Postby KaPluie » Fri Aug 05, 2011 11:41 pm

I've managed to collect a lot of decent players on offense, but now I'm pretty thin on pitching. I'd like to add Fister or Norris to my staff, but who to drop on O?

Roster Size: C, 1B, 2B, 3B, SS, OF, OF, OF, Util, SP, SP, RP, RP, P, P, P, BN, BN, BN, BN, BN, DL, DL

Batter Scoring: R, HR, RBI, SB, OBP, SLG
Pitching Scoring: W, SV, K, ERA, WHIP, Quality Starts

C - Alex Avila (C, preseason YRank=349)
1B - Joey Votto (1B, 5)
2B - Michael Young (1B/2B/3B, 76)
3B - Dan Uggla (2B, 34)
SS - Elvis Andrus (SS, 100)
OF - Matt Holliday (OF, 21)
OF - Corey Hart (OF, 98)
OF - Brett Gardner (OF, 120)
Utility - Alex Gordon (3B/OF, 287)
Bench - Melky Cabrera (OF, 373)
Bench - Jhonny Peralta (3B/SS, 272)
Bench - Cameron Maybin (OF. 259)
Bench - Brett Lawrie (2B/3B, 1315)
DL - Shin-Soo Choo (OF, 28)

SP - Cole Hamels (SP, 60)
SP - Johnny Cueto (SP, 212)
RP - Jonathan Papelbon (RP, 93) (closer)
RP - Jose Valverde (RP, 130) (closer)
P - Sergio Santos (RP, 381) (closer)
P - Joe Nathan (RP, 178) (closer)
P - Anibal Sanchez (SP, 277)
Bench - Tim Stauffer (SP/RP, 225)
DL - Adam Wainwright (SP/DL)

I think you should be fine with Cabrera and Gordon as your spare OF, so I would dump Maybin if you really need that extra arm down the stretch.

PLEASE HELP ME:

Maybin's my spare speed. When I'm playing a team that is speed-heavy, I have Andrus, Gardner, and Maybin start. When the team I'm playing is really weak in speed, I start Gardner and Andrus until I get a good lead in steals, then bench Gardner and Andrus and put in Peralta and Cabrera. Lawrie I just added today as a flier in case he blows up in the majors.

Cabrera has 14, Maybin has 26. In the last 30 days Cabrera has 3, Maybin has 14.
