Hi All,
I've been in fantasy baseball full season leagues for 3 years but have recently started playing online daily leagues where there'd be about 200 other teams vying for cash prizes. I never really did well in the full season leagues but thought I'd have more fun trying my hand at the dailies. However, I always seem to end up in the middle of the standings at the end of the day even though it seems like I picked a great team. I'd start out in the top 10 and then check my standing later in the night and see that I've dropped to like 120 out of 275, like what happened to me last night. I see guys on some sites who win hundreds or thousands of dollars every day. They're probably making a great living at it. They do this day in and day out on a consistent basis. But I'm always a consistent loser.
I don't take a technical approach to picking my teams. I pretty much pick players who I think have a favorable matchup against the opposing pitcher. In the daily leagues you're given a starting salary of say $100,000 and have to make up a team that stays within that salary.
Is there something I can do to help give me an advantage? Should I be running complicated spreadsheets to get a lineup? Are there any books or other resources I could use that would help me in daily leagues?
Thanks for the help.
