I was just offered J. Weaver, along with Neil Walker (who I won't use and could flip). I am tempted to do the deal because of my lack of elite SP depth, but 3B is so shallow that I am afraid it is just shifting power, and I would then have to move even more SP.

In a keeper NO! You already have Pedroia at 2B so that does nothing for you. You already basically have a guy on your bench like Walker, Murphy, on your bench. Like you said 3B is shallow, and even though you don't think your pitching is good enough, it's pretty solid.
