H2H points league, we keep 4. My team is going for it all this season, but I have a dilemma. Jason Heyward is a good keeper, but has been awful in 2011. My roster is as follows:
C - Avila
1B - Pujols
2B - Zobrist
3B - Youkilis
SS - Peralta
OF - Granderson/Ellsbury/Heyward/Matsui (riding until the hot streak ends)
UTL - Teixeira
SP (12 starts/week) - Hanson/Cain/A. Sanchez/Kuroda/Stauffer/C.Lewis/Luebke/Lilly/Bailey
RP (we start 3 RP and 1 wild P slot) - Kimbrel/Rivera/Hanrahan/Soria
The following trades my or may not be possible:
1.) GET: OF Cruz, SP Masterson
GIVE: OF Heyward, SP Bailey
-Team is in last place, no shot at the playoffs and only has 2 keeper-worthy players. The problem is, he thinks he could make the playoffs.
2.) GET: C Mauer, SP E. Jackson, OF Francoeur (over Chris Young, who is too on/off for me). Also has Freddy Garcia, but I dunno if I can trust him.
GIVE: OF Heyward, Avila, Bailey
-Mauer has quietly been swinging a hot bat over the struggling Avila...Francoeur isn't great but he's hitting....Jackson to the NL could be a good thing to boost my pitching?
3.) GET: OF Gordon, SP Billingsley, SP Niemann
GIVE: OF Heyward, RP Soria, SP Bailey (and/or other lower-tier SP, Bailey is who I want to trade most)
-He is just on the outside of the playoff race. He would deal Beckett when he feels he is out, though I'd probably have to give up a better SP too. He will know if he is in/out in 2 weeks. Our trade deadline is also in 2 weeks.
Do any of these trades make sense for 2011? #1 helps me the most, but the owner is not trade-happy. Team 2 I have worked trades with in the past, but he is towards the bottom and wouldn't keep Mauer or Heyward. Team 3 may do the current trade, but I get burned if I wait 2 weeks and this team goes 2-0 to stay in the race.
