I'm in a 12-team points league. We keep 10 players and JV is far and away my best player. The Kershaw owner offered me this trade today. I have a mancrush on the kid. Should I sell Verlander while his stock is at an all-time high? Or am I being an idiot for considering this?
My love for CK is blinding me...

Wow. Very interesting trade offer.
2.34 14-5 169 0.89 .193
2.72 12-4 173 1.04 .213
Verlander is on top, Kershaw on the bottom. Almost identical everything. Kershaw and Verlander are on the same exact tier in my mind, so no, you wouldn't be crazy for accepting this.
It's really a matter of personal preference I suppose. How does the keeper system work? Can you only keep them for a certain length? Does the round the player was drafted in have any impact? Maybe the key the unlocking this "problem" is knowing more about your keeper system.

Nope, it's just a straight-forward keeper league where we keep 10 of our guys. Nothing creative or too crazy. I like the fact that Verlander has always been legit, but now in his late-20's, he's starting to really hit his stride. It makes me think that in five years, when Kershaw is at the same point in his career, he could be even better.

They will both have equal strikeout numbers but I believe that Verlander will have a lower ERA at the end of the season and he is also on a much better offensive team (which means more wins) - So all in all, I'd stick with Verlander.

For a keeper league you got to like the way kershaw is pitching at such a young age....
I'd go kershaw. personal preference.
