Catcher help please...WHIR**

Postby StealingHome » Fri Jul 29, 2011 1:04 pm

11-team roto league w/keepers; 6x6 with OPS

I have had Wilson Ramos for the last few weeks, and he has slowed down considerably. For the rest of the season, whom do you like and why of JP Arencibia or "Salty"/Saltalamacchia? It looks like Salty is making use of his playing time but is still playing less frequently than Arencibia. Is there any reason to hold on Ramos if he is not going to be one of my keepers?

in a similar catcher predicament, I went with Arencibia. He's playing most days and hitting homers lately. BA and OPS still suck, but he's playing much more than Salty. My fingers are crossed that Rasmus will thrive in a Jays uniform and that will help him too. Ramos's production has fallen off too much in the last few weeks to consider him a permanent solution at backstop.

Being in this situation in the first place is not great, because none of your option are really going to do much.

I'd say Arencibia is the best option, because at least he can do some damage in one category, whereas I don't really see Salty or Ramos doing much of anything.
(In reference to an Aaron Hill for David Price swap)

arencibia would be the choice..salty is probably a better overall producer, but he only plays part-time. that's not what you need for your number one catcher. of those choices i pick jp.

i'd probably watch the wire and play the hot bat of the week. not much to choose from in the catcher position.

your opinion on mine? viewtopic.php?t=435771
