How'd I Make Out?

Postby JJLinn » Fri Jul 29, 2011 2:42 am

In a 12 man roto keeper league, and my hitting is ATROCIOUS. I've been literally sending out 3-4 offers a day, but got nothing. I got this today and it was far better than anything I'd received prior to it. The deal is:

I GIVE: Cliff Lee (SP, PHI), Nick Swisher (OF, NYY), Wilson Ramos (C, WAS)
I GET: Curtis Granderson (OF, NYY), Corey Hart (OF, MIL), Ryan Madson (RP, PHI)

And just to clarify:

League Type: Keeper
Scoring: Roto
Teams: 12

Here are the categories we score and my points as of tonight next to them (1-12):

BATTING
R: 2
HR: 5
RBI: 5
SB: 4
AVG: 2

PITCHING
K: 10
W: 12
SV: 1
ERA: 11
WHIP: 12

And my roster:

C: Alex Avila (DET)
C: Matt Wieters (BAL)
1B: Prince Fielder (MIL)
2B: Jason Kipnis (CLE)
3B: Edwin Encarnacion (TOR)
SS: Asdrubal Cabrera (CLE)
2B/SS: Gordon Beckham (CWS)
1B/3B: Ty Wigginton (COL)
OF: Nick Markakis (BAL)
OF: Nick Swisher (NYY)
OF: Michael Cuddyer (MIN)
OF: Nolan Reimold (BAL)
OF: Laynce Nix (WAS)
UTIL: Adam Dunn (CWS)

BENCH: Chase Headley (3B, SD)
BENCH: Wilson Ramos (C, WAS)
BENCH: Anthony Rizzo (1B, SD)
BENCH: David DeJesus (OF, OAK)
BENCH: James Loney (1B, LAD)
DL: Brian Roberts (2B, BAL)
DL: Jose Tabata (OF, PIT)
DL: Freddy Sanchez (2B, SF)

SP: Cliff Lee (PHI)
SP: Jered Weaver (LAA)
SP: Shaun Marcum (MIL)
SP: Chris Carpenter (STL)
SP: Ian Kennedy (ARI)
SP: Mike Leake (CIN)
RP: Francisco Cordero (CIN)
RP: Tyler Clippard (WAS)
RP: Frank Francisco (TOR)
RP: Philip Humber (CWS)

BENCH: Zach Britton (BAL)
BENCH: Paul Maholm (PIT)
BENCH: Sergio Romo (SF)
BENCH: Sean Marshall (CHC)
DL: Adam Wainwright (STL)

DESIGNATED MINOR LEAGUERS: Yu Darvish (SP), Jesus Montero (C), Jonathan Schoop (3B)

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
My thought process was pretty much this: my hitting is absolute garbage outside of Fielder and Cabrera and the only guy getting me saves is extremely inconsistent. With Lee gone I still have Weaver/Marcum/Carpenter/Kennedy with Leake/Maholm/Britton/Humber as decent 5th guys. Wainwright will hopefully be back next year, and there's rumblings that Darvish may come over.

I thought it was a fair deal, but I wouldn't mind some extra input. Any opinions are appreciated.

I really like this deal for you, I think you came out on top.

Curtis Granderson is a top 5 fantasy player right now.

Yes, I think you did well there, too. Granderson is the prize in that deal, of course, and is much more valuable as a keeper than Lee.
