I've never heard of him before today, but he's 14th in the light-hitting IL with 13 HR in only 38 games. His power has been great his entire minor league career, putting up 33 HR per 162 games from catcher. Good AVG, good walk rates, possibly workable K rate, maybe a Jorge Posada type? How come nobody talks about this kid?

They do. He'd get a lot more attention if he could, you know, actually catch. Red Sox aren't helping his defensive developement by DHing him half the time.

That is how the Red Sox treat minor league catchers. Catch one day and work on drills on the other days.
