Making a run (WHIR)

Postby Holein1 » Tue Jul 26, 2011 10:10 am

I am in need of ERA, WHip, Ks and Wins. I am going to trade away cargo for a upgrade in these areas. His main value is he is 1 9th round keeper next year

I get

Hamels or King Felix
Markakis

I give

Cargo

First...please confirm this is a good trand....2nd would you take Hamels or King Felix. I though king felix was a no brainer but hamels has a better whip era and will get me more wins.

Is this a keeper league?
H2H or Roto?

Need a few more details.

Keeper league roto. I am in the top 3 in all batting cats but middle of the row in pitching cats. Here is my team. You can only keep keepers for 2 years so next year will be cargos final keeper year (n the 9th round). I cant keep felix but hamels would be a 4th round keeper and markakis would be 6th round but probaly wont be kept because my 5 keepers are already spoken for.

My lineup

C Iannetta, Chris
1B Hosmer, Eric
2B Kinsler, Ian
3B Youkilis, Kevin
SS Tulowitzki, Troy
MI Young, Michael
CI Lind, Adam
OF Jackson, Austin
OF Rasmus, Colby
OF Stubbs, Drew
OF Thames, Eric
OF Upton, Justin
DH Espinosa, Danny

Bench (OF) Gonzalez, Carlos
Bench (DH) Escobar, Yunel
Bench (DH) Smoak, Justin

P Gallardo, Yovani
P Gonzalez, Gio
P Lincecum, Tim
P Nathan, Joe
P Ogando, Alexi
P Perez, Chris
P Scherzer, Max
P Street, Huston
P Vogelsong, Ryan

Bench (P) Capps, Matt
Bench (P) Luebke, Cory
Bench (P) Santana, Johan

I would want Felix in the deal, but considering Cargo you can keep for a 9th, I would try to get pitching from somewhere else. Markakis is worthless and Cargo in the 9th is way too valuable.

It's a classic win it now at the cost of some keeper value next year deal. If the added pitching gives you a shot at a title now I say take it. Who knows if CarGo's wrist might become a chronic issue or not?

I like Hamels more than Felix here. Seattle flat out does not win games.

I agree with the previous post and would accept the deal for Hamels and Markakis. Seattle has lost 16 games in a row, which basically means that acquiring Felix will not help you in the win department.
