I've mentioned my situation a lot on here already, and I am still trying to figure something out. I need to drop a player since I have both Danks and Beltre on my DL. I can't pick up a 3B until I remove Danks from my DL and one way for me to open a spot is by doing a 2 for 1 trade. And I would much rather do this then just drop someone and not get any value in return.
So do you think this would be a good trade for me to pursue, or should I avoid it?
Bud Norris and Carlos Pena for Freddie Freeman and a 15th round pick
Freeman could be kept as a 13th round pick next year
If you like the trade do you think I should ask for a higher pick in return or is the deal good as is?

Oh for sure, I think Norris and Pena for Freeman alone would be a solid deal for you. Freeman is a top 10 prospect, although the thing is would you be keeping him as one of your six keepers?
Either way though, if you choose not to, I'd rather have Freeman than Pena for the rest of the year, and you were going to drop Norris if you couldn't get a trade involving him right? So why not, go for it.

Thanks for the response, thats exactly what I was thinking too. I was going to have to drop Norris anyways so I might as well get some value for him. And yes I would include Freeman as one of my keepers so thats why I really would like to acquire him.
I wouldn't do that deal. I don't think Freeman is a keeper for you and you need pitching help more than batting help. Losing Norris hurts more than getting Freeman helps.
You're getting a good prospect, and the bigger issue is that you NEED to free up a spot. So yeah, go for it. This is one way to do it, and you're not giving up too much.
Freeman would be borderline to me, but you can't even start him this year.
I don't value pitching as highly unless it's a top guy. Norris has the makings of a top guy for fantasy but is somewhat limited in Houston. Pena doesn't help much since you have OBP, K, and Avg as categories. Freeman can contribute to almost all of the cats.
All that being said, I'd do it because Freeman is worth quite a bit more than the 13th rounder you are giving up to keep him.
