i drafted the all injury team

Postby Lithman » Tue Mar 30, 2004 5:36 pm

had the second pick in 12 team draft. somehow i ended up with tons of guys with injury history. its a 12x11 league with tons of pitching stats like holds and stuff

C- Pudge
1b- sweeney
2b- kent
ss- tejada
3b- arod
of- magglio
of- m cabrera
of- podsednik
util- kendall
bench - floyd
bench- walker
bench- ensberg
bench- bernie williams

sp- unit
sp- oswalt
sp- beckett
rp- izzy
rp- herges
p- redding
p- myers
p- suppan
bnch- worrel
bnch- lidge
bnch- quantrill

draft went like this

arod
magglio
tejada
unit
kent
o's
beckett
pudge
sweeney
izzy
walker

and so on...

if guys like sweeney and walker can make a comeback, i think i'll be ok. i know my sp is hurting as is my rp (as i only have 1 true closer). but what do ya'll think?

I think you'll be ok, too provided that not too many of your guys go down. I think you ought to be looking for a closer. Maybe package Bernie Williams and Tim Redding??? I'm not sure who to tell you to give up that would be worth a decent closer so you might want to look on the FA/W market.

I guess you could do something with Kendall or Pudge, but I like to have 2 solid catchers on my roster, so that's something I wouldn't do. Catchers get injured too easily.

Good luck.

I think your team looks great offensively. Far as closers go, see if Kolb is available FA... with Milwaukee.
Good luck.

This may sound crazy, but I recently picked up Koch believing this is his turn around year! Can't help but be hopeful. You may want to drop Worrell since he's going to be second string behind Wagner. I just can't see him putting up big numbers this year.

Sweeney just hit his 5th HR of spring today. Looks like he's healthy to me.

Oswalt is as healthy as he's ever been and Beckett's blister problems should be minor. RJ looks good so far but hard to say what the situation will be like by June.

Walker doesn't make or break your team so all in all, I think you'll do fine.
