Ramus dropped. Is he worth adding? WHIR

Postby BlueJaysFan » Sun Jul 24, 2011 10:14 pm

I don't think I need him, but I wouldn't mind dropping Hernandez for him. I'm 5th on waivers, so there is a chance some else gets him. But, should I try to get him anyway? I know he's struggling now, but if he heats up it could turn out to be a great move.

It's a standard roto league, I'm currently first by only 1 point.

I would go for it, especially since you will still have 4 closers.

thanks for the help with mine.

I would pick him up and hold onto him for a week. If he stays in STL, cut him loose. But, if he goes, .........

And I think he gets dealt.

Eh, if I were you, I'd be more concerned about the lack of starting pitching you have. 5 starters? I usually like going with 3-4 closers, and then stocking my bench with pitchers.

I'd consider dropping Venters, Hernandez, AND Hafner to pick up additional starting pitching. What does the waiver wire look like for THAT?
(In reference to an Aaron Hill for David Price swap)

I would definitely add him. It's unlikely that you would find similar upside on the ww at this point. I think Hernandez is the guy to go, but I disagree that Venters should go too IF, and only if, you actually play him. He's such a great boost to your peripherals that he could be worth using.

I also don't think that Rasmus will be dealt. But I also think that once it's clear to TLR that he's here to stay the relationship will be mended and Colby will be allowed to do what he does best, play ball, and not focus on the media and politics therein.

i like what you're thinking.. hernandez is going to get the boot soon.. real soon. and he'll be worth very little unless you're league counts holds. rasmus could turn out to be a big pickup. especially if, like mentioned above, he gets traded. why not do it? you're going to need to pickup somebody.. are there any better options on the wire?

I had an extra SP, in humber. I recently traded him for Venters, so I don`t want to drop him. I need him for ERA and WHIP, plus he gets a fair bit of Ks and an occasional win. I would also like to keep Hafner, he may be past his prime, but he`s hitting over .320 and still has home run power. Not to mention I only have him and Trumbo on my bench right no. here are the best SP available:

Colon
Mahalom
Luebke
Collmenter
Niese

I wouldn`t mind adding one of them, but I`m only willing to drop Hernadez for him, unless someone gives me a really good reason why I should drop another player. If I do add one of them, it would mean I forget about Rasmus.
Thnx for all the Help so far, I wouldn`t appreciate some more if anyone has some time to spare. I`m only ahead by 1 point so I want to make the best move possible.

I would wait it out and see if you can get Rasmus, if not then definitely add Luebke or Colon and drop Hernandez.

help with another one if you got a chance:

Ok, I placed a waiver for him. I forgot to add Danks to the list above. If the waiver doesnt go through, witch of the 3 would you add? Since I added Danks in my other league, I'm leaning towards him.

That is a very tough decision. I like Danks the most but he is on a 6 man rotation apparently. Do you think that hurts his value at all? Cause I think it does a little bit.

I would still rank them like this though:
1. Danks
2. Luebke
3. Colon (is on a better team so him and Luebke are pretty much equal imo)
