I have recently been offered this trade:

2B--Danny Espinosa
OF--Delmon Young
SP--Jhoulys Chacin
SP--James Shields

He gets:

OF--Andre Ethier
SP--Jon Lester
SP--Ted Lily
RP--Ryan Madson

I am thinking my keepers at this point for next year are:
1B--Adrian Gonzalez
2B--Dan Uggla
3B,OF--Martin Prado
OF--Jason Heyward
OF--Shin Soo Choo
SP--Jon Lester

I really want Strasburg and I am curious about Espinosa as a potential keeper. I don't plan on keeping Ethier, but I really like Prado and his positional eligibility and am willing to budge on Lester because pitching is deep and he is in the Al East. I would hate to give up Prado. I am thinking if I get Shields and Chacin in to trade bait to get either Asdrubal, Jhonny, or Reyes (all reside on the same team). My questions to you all are:

1. Who are my current 6 keepers?
2. Is Espinosa an upgrade over Prado?
3. Would you do this trade? Justify why or why not.

Any help would be appreciated so much. I will definitely help in return a whole lot. Thanks!

I do not think Espinosa is an upgrade over Prado honestly. Prado is a much more proven player.

I realize you do need some SP depth, so I would still try and make a trade work where you can get Strasburg and/or James Shields. See if you can take Prado and Espinosa out and include Choo in the trade to still make it work. Then I think it would be a great trade for you.

#1---Gonzalez, Heyward, Lester, Uggla....two of Moustakas, Trout and Choo.

#2---I like Espinosa over Prado. Sure he has nice elig. but in the actual stats side of thigns I will tkae Espinosa.

#3---I take the deal as I believe it gives you a better group of keepers. Stras, Shields, Chacin and Espinosa are all potential keepers. While I would not keep Prado, only Lester, so in my mind you are getting a pretty sweet deal.

tough call on prado vs espinosa. without the multi position eligibility for prado id take espinosa but evens it out some. I still love espinosa's potential over prado but for now id call it a wash because as someone already said, prado is much more proven. I like the trade in your favor and would consider keeping espinosa if you make it. deal gives you a clear upgrade in sp and little dropoff with bats.
