ogando/morse for rivera/mauer

Postby osbtensor » Fri Jul 22, 2011 10:07 pm

points only league.. pitchers very valuable. best batter joey bats 376 points ... best pitcher verlander 670 (just to give an idea of the points)

i've got a trade pending where i give up votto/suzuki for tulo/mccann. if i can trade for mauer/rivera and use mauer at 1b now that he's eligible i think i'm solidifying my team. what do you guys think? i've got lots of closers, but i'm thinking that either salas or madson are probably not going to be closing sometime soon... heath bell trade looming. it's a long shot.. but still, you can't go wrong picking up rivera, right?

leave a link.. WHIR for sure. (in the morning)

I think it's a good trade for you. McCann is a fantasy beast, the best catcher for fantasy out there. Suzuki will always be Suzuki, but he's a little more down this year. Votto is obviously a great player, but Tulo is no slouch. I like it.

you have Morse who is a good 1b.

I'd rather have Morse than Mauer at 1b.

Yes to the Votto McCann trade.

If you think playing Mauer at 1B is as good idea, you're wrong. So much of Mauer's value is tied up in his C eligibility that it's not even funny. If I saw a team player Mauer at 1B I'd either assume they were carrying 4+ Dl'ed players or they just didn't understand roster construction.

Mauer has NO value at 1B and with your point system, he REALLY has no value. If Votto was only giving you that many points, I can't even imagine what Mauer will get you.........
