What ballpark is a better hitter's park Bank one or Fenway? My colleagues have gotten into a debate over this. I know fenway has the green monster and that robs a few homers but it is also closer to home plate.
What other factors make Bank one the better hitter's park (well I believe bank one is the better hitter's park)?
Fenway is definitely a better hitter's park; just look at all the records the 2003 Red Sox set. The Green Monster creates a ton of offense for teams. Many of the balls hit over or off the monster are long fly ball outs in other parks.
I know Bank One isn't really a pitchers park, but look at that wall in center field. I know I'd rather hit in Fenway than Bank One, but both are condusive to yielding nice offensive numbers for their respective players.
The Green Monster may rob home runs, but those potential home runs still go for doubles. However, on the other side, the Green Monster takes a lot of potential fly ball outs and makes them doubles as well.
I like Fenway as a hitter's park, although I think much of the offense last year had to do with the quality of the players and not the park they are hitting in.
Sporting News has the BOB ranked as the 3rd best hitters ballpark, after Colorado and KC. Fenway is #10.
I'm not sure about the Phoenix altitude, but I don't think it's far enough above sea level for the altitude to make any difference
Bluto: Over? Did you say over? NOTHING is over until WE decide it is! Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? HELL, NO!
Otter: Germans?
Boon: Forget it, he's rolling.
