Rays prospect outfielder Desmond Jennings was held out of the lineup with Triple-A Durham on Friday night for "non medical" reasons.
Very interesting. This could mean nothing at all, or it could be a precursor to a trade or potential call-up. Stay tuned.

Ya its just speed and frankly its been odd that its been this long for his call (back) up

Im more intrigued now that it looks like Upton may be traded

Actually it's not odd. He was a September callup last year and he accumulated an extra month+ of service time. So the Rays had to wait until at least early July to avoid super 2 and then he got injured.

But I'm ready for this. I'm 12th (14) in SB's and I've added JWeeks and Bourjos (and even Bartlett) while getting CC and Victorino off the DL. I can move up 5 spots with a +10 SB differential thru the end of the season. And that is HUGE at this point in the season.

830 OPS, takes walks, has speed, a little bit of power, and keep in mind this isn't the PCL. He's thrust into the leadoff spot. Now it's time to sink or swim. He could make a lot of people (myself included) wish they'd stashed him while he was available.

He is still going to platoon with Elliot Johnson at SS for now. EJ is not a full time big league player though and SRod should see more time and eventually have a full time job sooner rather than later IMO
